The artist Michael Behrend Hansen is a sculptor with a clear and distinct voice, and he shows a heart for people and especially those who struggle. He works mostly in granite and bronze.
His art work is an important commentary to the society we live in – he focuses on the individual’s fate and daily struggle, and on the great challenges in the Western world, such as immigration.
The sculptures are engaging and a good starting point for discussing on the society we live in. His art challenges me to reflect and see what I otherwise choose to ignore. The artist himself says nothing about, what is right or wrong, but he clarifies a situation / problem and leaves it to us to come up with the answers.
